otos and heaters: bad combo?

do I have to be concerned about my oto hanging out on the heater??

It's a MarineLand Dual Temp http/www.cichlid-forum.com/reviews/view_...ails.php?id=290

It's set for 76F and I'm worried that if it turns on & heats up while that silly fish is hanging on it the oto is going to get hurt.

I've never had a problem, or heard of anyone having a problem with "sucking" fish and heaters. I think they're smart enough to realize when the place they're sitting becomes uncomfortably hot - and move.

When I had Otos in the baby fishy tank, their favorite hangout spot was the heater and I never noticed any negative effects. I agree with what Julie said - you shouldn't have any problems

If you are that concerned you could always
add a heater guard, most lfs's will have them in stock.
