I have a 10 gallon fry tank with a lot of algae growing. Can I put 3-4 otos in to take care of it. I'm getting 2 more otos for my main tank today so I could get like 4 more or 3 more for that tank. Or would these be a problem?

Otos are catfish :).

They would be fine with all but the smallest egg-layer fry :good:. However since they like cooler, fast flowing water with lots of oxygen, and fry tanks typically only have sponge filters, I wouldn't recommend it for a very long time, maybe just a month or so then back in the main tank.

Can I suggest trying to stop the algae in the first place?

My fry tank doesn't have a dponge filter. How could I stop it?

How would the plants deal with the problem?

Floating plants also have the benefit of blocking out light, less light = less algae.

Because they are right up next to the light, and their leaves have access to air, they grow much faster than most aquatic plants too.

Also, don't keep the lights on for so long, and have breaks to disrupt the algae, lights on for 8 hours a day with a 1 hour break inbetween, at least until the water parameters settle a bit.
