Oscarz

In my Oscar Tank I have large pebbles layed on the bottom, the pebbles are larger than their mouths though, much larger. Just incase they decided to try and eat one it would be too big to fit in there mouth and get stuck.

Sand is best as oscars love to dig, using large pebbles and rocks supresses their natural behaviour and leaves them depressed.

If you want a good looking tank with a oscar you need to use decor that is too large to be moved, plants are a no no as they will be ripped up and small rocks and wood will be pushed around the tank.

my tank has nothing but sand and a ping pong ball they like to play with.

i heard if oscars dont like where stuff is they relocate it ok so i think i should of made this a poll ill make one right now

I like to keep moveable stuff in my tank for my Oscar. I think it is amazing to watch them design their own living quarters. This just my opinion though. You may not want to see your Oscar turn into to one of the fab-five.

CFC is correct when it comes to sand but one thing you should know about is that they are very messy and its really darn hard to clean the sand, i have 1 large oscar with sand and another oscar with gravel, if i had the choice i would have never got sand its really hard to clean and gets sucked up into the filter to much.
