Gold Saums are much nicer looking than Silver Saums or true GTs tho in my experience.

 
I'm not a fan, I prefer the True GT's

They just look the same without the yellow, with back to front scale pattern and a bit smaller, just because they are more expensive and rare, don't mean they are better to look at

No I really do prefer them for their appearance not their price or rarity... Price has nothing to do with how much you like a fish, or at least - It shouldnt... You should like a fish for it's appearance not it's price...

what about dovii??? not sure what type of fish you want. if you want BAD.....tough to beat the dovii. Oscars are awesome, though. just not together. imo

what about paratilapia polleni? they're a madagascan cichlid absolutely stunning when fully grown. or if you're not put off by hybrids maybe flowerhorns? or red texas?

tough to beat a RED red texas! awesome looking fish!

I have never had a Jaguar, but did once want them, however Oscar's appeal to me more. I have had quite a few Cichlid's and large fish from:  GT's, Flower Horns, Giant Gouramis, Jack Dempseys, Fire Mouths etc... and I always prefer Oscar's. They are easily available which is true so not so 'exotic' to the average person anymore, but there's also a reason they are in a few LFS. They are fun and usually so friendly. They aren't too aggressive either.
