Can oscars, Jd's and firemouths go with convicts .

jus make sure the oscar and JD are pretty small so they get used to the others.


Cons i kno grow alot slower than oscars.


i had a 1" con go missing recently


and my oscar was about 3" when the con was jus under 1" and now my oscar is probably pushing 8"

If there all about the same size Convicts are more than Capable of taking care of themselves too, have kept Convicts for years and have noticed they always seem to do better when there is 4 of them even though its stated to keep them in pairs. The convict is a very aggressive and evil fish though so don't try and keep anything like Rams with them though as they will just get whacked, actually be careful whatever you put with them as they proper evil little bastards even more so when they start breeding.

In what gallon tank are these going in?

Oscars get huge, as do JD's, Firemouths hit 6" easy and so the Convicts. They will all need swimming room and the FM/Cons will need caves etc to hide and relax in.

3 oscars would be really pushing it, plus to have two you would need a pair, and 3 would leave an odd one out.

I would get 1 oscar, 1 jd, a pair of cons, and however many firemouths. Be wary though and start them all young, every once in a while my convict and firemouth will have a little flaring battle, usually only lasts a few seconds though, and I've been noticing it has been happening less and less.

you cant have 3 oscars youll end up with one or if your a lil lucky a pair.


you need a 250G atleast for all them.

Where abouts are you? I have some Convict Fry that should be ready soon if thats any help, their all from great parents and I have every bit of confidence they will graduate from Fight Tank next week.
