please can someone tell me if its ok to keep a 9 inch female oscar in a u.s 20 gallon tank and feed her the minimum food to keep her from growing too fast. if it is how long before she has to be re homed to a bigger tank. and if its not ok then why. thank you for any replies. its not me doing this by the way.

Not okay. That tank is no where big enough for a 9 inch oscar. Also feeding less will only slow its growing and make it sick or susceptible to disease. Dont malnourish a fish just because u dont want it to grow. I'm glad its not u doing this. Whoever it is go to there home and steal their fish and then give it to someone with the facilities and knowledge to take care of it.

wish i could i really do, but i am really angry about it, and he will soon know about it. thanks

hmmmm

maybe you can persuade your friend into buying a nice comfey 75gal for it? :hey:

if you were to say 3-4" for a little bit i would say ok but hell no with a 9" theres no way of it liveing for a while. Dwarf_dudes friend tryed this and it died. Trust us we know what we are talking about.
