Hey all! here are some pictures of my new Oscar, Elvis.

And another of him sulking behind the castle.

Just thought I'd post some pics of him, I'm so happy :D .

He is about 7 in at the moment. He is still sulking, hopefully he'll explore a bit more soon.

Yeah, I think he's annoyed cos I put him in this strange new tank

Hey everyone. Just posting some updates on Elvis. :)
He's still sulking a bit but I think he came out a bit last night. There are a few tetras missing. ;)

Here he is again.

And again.

Does anybody have any ideas to stop him sulking? My idea was to move the pieces of wood all to the back and the castle, so he has more swimming room.

This morning he shows some signs of activity (he seemed to be attacking the glass  ) but is still laying sort of lopsided at the back most of the time.

Any ideas would be appreciated, thanks.

I have heard that some Oscars can be really huge mellow-dramatic BABIES!!! :hyper: :hyper:

I don't own any, and along with any advice anyone else has for you......I'd say give him some tall plants and some time.......he'll snap out of it!!

Beauty Fish  I wub him!!

He's starting to move about a bit more now. I put most of the wood at the back and the castle, so he has more swimming room. He now moves about but is starting to attack the plant. I think this is because it is where he used to hide and dig gravel, so he thinks, "Hey, what's this thing doing in my space."

More pictures, now he is out and moving about a bit more. His colour looks a bit brighter now. Maybe it's just me.

Here he is hiding again behind the castle.

he is a scardy cat thats all, try just poking ur eyes around a corner of the room so he cant see u i bet he will be out and about

My oscar is now swimming about the tank normally. :D He has taken to flaring his mouth at the glass and keeps going up to it. He flares his mouth at a lot of things, the wood, the plant, me. Anyway, he's getting on fine and still hasn't eaten all the tetras. I'm going to get him a friend soon but don't know when would be the best time to get one. I will probably get a pleco or pictus cats.

One thing is now I really know how messy these thingsare. I fed him some food yesterday and most of it came back out his gills. The tetras got some of his leftovers.

New pictures of him settled in.
