Hiya , just wondered if anyone knows with oscars if they are circleing eachother and flapping their tails hard to describe really but they are not trying to bite eachother would this be they are pairing up? I did have 3 parrot fish in with them for a while they are all ok but then the oscars have been turning on these so we had to remove them into a different tank, any info would be great thank you

Hiya Sam ,the tank is 450 vision jewul , just the 2 oscars and a 10inch plec , the oscars are between 3 and 4 inches long

Could be pairing. Maybe just playing though, they can be quite playful IMO.

I'v also observed this behavior in my two oscars. They kinda try to push each other with their tail...like flap the other one with the tail

Could be pairing.

I doubt it as both the oscars I used to have were females.

May be it's a territorial behavior, to show who's the boss like. It's because I noticed the smaller one usually backs off after a while after doing this. No scientific proof though.
