Woah, lots of questions!
Oscars get big. Seriously big. You'd need a big tank, 75g minimum.

Cichlids come in a huge range of sizes from dwarfs like Kribs and rams, to large beasts like oscars, so the tank size depends on the species you chose.

Dinosaur eels (senagal polypterus) also get rather large and prefer to be kept on their own or with other large, peaceful fish.

First of all, an oscar is a cichlid ;) Oscars grow to around 14" and need a minimum of a 75 gallon tank with a lot of filtration.

There are hundreds of species of cichlids ranging from tiny 2" dwarfs to big ones growing over a foot and a half in length, every one needs it's own special care and environment, no matter how hardy they may be.

There is no such thing as a dinosaur eel. That is a fish made up by pet stores to grab peoples attention. They are actually senegal bichirs, a species of polypterid, which grow to about a foot in length and will eat any fish small enough to fit in their mouth.

Lotsa Q's but that is good ;)

Well, you need to start from the beginning, what size tank, what kinda filteration, heating and substrate? This will help? What are you looking for life expectancy or looks?

Thanks

It's possible to keep other fish with an oscar, but you need a very large tank and have to choose your tankmates carefully, as oscars are an aggressive fish and any fish kept with them has to be able to hold its own.

Senegal bichirs (dinosaur eels) are a great fish. As Dwarfs said, they get about a foot long and eat anything they can possibly fit in their gaping maws, but in my experience they pretty much mind their own business and do well kept with other fish too large for them to eat :p. They're nocturnal, but are one of the more active species of polypterid, so you do get to see them out and about fairly often.

Believe it or not, oscars are one of the more peaceful cichlids,a and aren't too aggressive. The like to eat and beg, unlike some other cichlids that would rather kill and fight
