how would that work

the plec in 20 cm & i would get a baby oscar so they would grow up toghter

it would turn out terrible!
Oscars and common plecos are messiest fish out there! it would be a massive bioload
plus Oscars get to over 12 inches(1 foot) and would need about a 80-100 gallon minimum tank
and Comm Plecos get double the length of an oscar and 2 feet! and need a 150+ gallon tank

how about if i got another filter
& when the ocsar got to big i moved the common back to my 23g

read again what i said please :)
Another filter might help a tiny bit but it will not do much help at all

Oscar's need a MINIMUM sized tank of 80 gallons for them to grow properly

Common Plecos need a MINIMUM of a 150 gallon tank for them to grow to thier full potential

If you cant give your pleco the proper home it neds, unfortunatly i have to suggest you take it back or sell it to someone with a big enough tank :)

Another fine example of someone ignoring advice they don't like.

Like dwarf said, the tank will not be big enough for either of those fish when they grow up...

Do you already have the tank, or still looking to buy?

i just think there the 20 osecars in the fish store are not going to go to a 80 g +tank are they coz when i was looking for a tank the biggest i could find was a 50 g so i think maybe 1 will go to a good home so i think that 50 g for 1 oscar will be ok

just read that back i know i sounds a right bL88dy brat  :X

I am sorry, but it will not be okay. Maybe until the oscar gets bigger, it could be in that tank alone, but a common plec needs a bigger tank than a 50 gal! Let alone a 23 gal!

Don't ask for advice if you are going to ignore it. :/

so how about if i have the oscar in the 50 g uk alone

Ok, lets try this another way.... what are the dimensions of the 50 gallon tank in question? How long, high and wide is it?

ok i just go & check

up - 1 ft 9 1/2 cm
wide - 1ft 8 cm
long 4 ft

The answer is no, period. That is all you need to know.
No oscar + plec.
No oscar by itself.
The tank is too small and that's that. Needs another 25 gallons on it at least for an oscar, nevermind a common plec.
