I would say keep up with the water changes and make sure you keep the proper dose of salt wich would be 1 tablespoon of salt per 5gal also raise temp to 86-87 degrees and increase areation. For more help i would really recommend you visit OSCARFISH.COM its a great forum for oscars. A word of warning is that everyone there will tell you that your overstocked by having and oscar bp pleco and the other fish in the 75gal. Good luck.

it is slightly overstocked (or would have been with all fish full size). i'm running 7x turnover on the tank tho. no pleco tho. just going to be the O and BP (assuming they both make it).

86-87 Seems a bit high to me.... I'm keeping him steady at 84 right now.

Update on his status: A couple hours ago he started to come out of hiding and poke around his tank a bit (about as much as an oscar can poke around in just 5 gallons lol). Gills are still going a million miles a minute and he's sulky, but the white "fungus" seems to be going down a LOT. Just his behavior alone is a plus though. He seems to be doing a bit better after that second dose. Big water change tomorrow and more meds for another couple days.

I'll keep everyone updated

oh and the BP is happy as a clam in the 10 gallon treatment tank. he is moving the little pebbles holding down the 2 plastic plants in there all over the tank. hes even slid the plants to positions of his liking . He could care less that he has Ich

Update 2:
Well, he is officially a tank of a fish. He is now swimming about, begging for food, and eating. I think he is just upset to be trapped in a little 5 gallon at this point. I couldn't be happier.

On another note..... I can't move him out of the treatment tank until the Ich goes away. I'm keeping the water warm and treating with Quick Cure (on the 3rd day now). Anyone have experience with Ich that has some advice to offer as far as that goes? I'd like to get him out of the 5 gallon asap.

gosh thats good to hear!
i would be tempted to keep him in there untill all his symptoms have gone,but thats just my opinion.he may even need a second round of meds is this one doent work completly,make sure he has an airstone in there.. the main thing is that hes on the mend, thats just the best news

He's excellent. Slightly sulky cuz he's in the small tank, but when I came home today he was begging like he hadn't eaten in weeks. He wouldn't leave my gf alone when she got near the tank yesterday either. I think he has a crush

I'm trying to get a good look at his fins. I believe the Ich is gone. If so, he's going back into the 75gallon later this evening. Hardy little bugger.

The Blood Parrot still looks like he has Ich...... probably because his tank won't reach the temp I want. Pumba will probably be a lonely Oscar for a few days
