Hi I was wonderin what you guys might thunk about adding my albino red Oscar in my 75 gal with my gt and my pictus cats both Oscar and gt are about 3.5"

If the GT is already dominant in that tank it will kill your Oscar with in a couple of days, and vice versa if the Oscar already owned the tank....as Mattlee will tell you.

75g is not big enough for a Oscar for its whole life.

Pims are 5" the green terror is quite mellow compaired to ones iv had in past the Oscar is avtad bit bigger than my gt

Yeah give it a go, obviously at present there small, but as they mature things may change, best time to get them along mind when small, mauch harder when mature, pims have those hard bone like things under there fins, which would not bode well if a fish tried to eat them, but ive kept oscars with full grown pims before

It didn't work for me but both mine were big adult fish. The gt lasted three days.....

AHh didnt realise they were so small, yes it will work while they are young, your GT will pick on the Oscart a little initially, once they mature the tank will become to small for both anyway.

I had an Oscar in a 70g before and it was cramped as hell.

Ye they are only juvees iv had a severum in with the gt for a while up until a few day.s ago and the gt never bothered him that's why I questioned whether the g would be ok with an oscar

I'd say 75g is a perfect minimum. It's not desired, but you know it's twice the size, if not over twice the size of the tanks that 80% of the oscars in the petstore end up in. 75g at least gives them a good amount of room to turn, and 4 feet of room to swim.

However, I'd be a little worried about having both a green terror and a oscar in a tank that size. But it really depends on the fish. I think 75g should be for one oscar to be kept alone, with maybe a few bottom feeders of sorts that it doesn't pay mind to.

Id agree 75gal is a good size aquarium for an Oscar the green terror if it carrys on being mellow it might work

I would definitely rearrange the tank before adding the Oscar. I might go so far as to remove the Green Terror for like an hour, then add him back in after the Oscar has a chance to get his bearings.

I really think those who say an oscar cannot live its life in a 75 gallon is crazy.
Its the minimum but it is better than most people buying an oscar and putting them in 2ft tanks.
