Hi Everyone,

First post so hope you can all help :)

I got a goldfish today, put it in the tank (Basic gravel and a couple of ornaments) but we took the ornaments out to let the fish get used to new tank etc. People say the fish will get bored so obviously I'd like to put them back in soon, but how can I do it best?

Remove the fish to a temporary bowl etc, and put the ornaments in? I don't want to put my arm in the tank as it could "pollute" the water, or is that not right? Obviously don't want to remove the water either?

Thanks :)

Nope, your arm will not disturb water quality, that is unless you have something toxic on your skin (e.g. an industrial cleaner). It's still a good idea to wash your hands before, and especially after putting them in the tank.

I would put your ornaments back in.
