Ordered Live Rock

i ordered some livve rock yesterday saying they would give next day delivery but it never cam i just got a email back from them saying it will be here on monday they said that it is wrapped in plasctic to be kept damp and then placed in a polysterene box to stay warm.
so my question is, is there any point i having this rock as more then likely most organisms would be dead as they are sitting in a post office for the next 2 days.
as you can imagine i am not happy with this service can i name and shame the company as i dont want any one else to go through this.

I dont think you should name and shame, because IMO, its not entirly their fault. If you ordered the LR yesterday, downunder that means Saturday, but Im going to assume you ordered on Friday, a business day. Over here I know the postal service doesnt work on the weekend, so I wouldnt order live goods on a friday, and expect delivery on the next day.

If you recieve your LR, and it is completly rotten, ring them and camly talk it out. Sometimes they do not actually pack your LR, but on send it from their supplier, so it might not be their fault it was sent on the friday, when it should have been put on hold till monday morning.

I dont think the LR will be rotten though, if they packed it right, not everything should be dead, just wait and see before you ruin your chances of a refund, or publically shame the company, for something not entirly their fault.

fair enough but they should really mention that they dont deliver on saturdays otherwise i would have waited

are you sure they actually sent it out though did they say its sitting in a post office somewhere, i know most decent companys, if you order on a friday would not send it out, but still, i doubt very much it will be rotten and you will still probably have life on the rock. I got mine shipped to me and thought everything would die, it was out for a day and bit and i have crabs and all sorts in there!

Heh, two days is actually nothing in the LR distribution network... Your rock goes through way more hell before it gets to you than two days in a sealed poly box dampened with water. Usually on the trip from the islands where its collected to the main distributors in your country it spends days sitting in containers uninsulated. You're going to have some significant dieoff on the rocks, but most of it will grow back in time and the rock will still be worth having. Just make sure you wait at least 2 weeks before adding livestock.

i got the rock today some bits looked amazing especially one bit but others didnt look so live but they are nice shapes so they are worth keeping
