Orange Sharks 94 Litre Marine Attempt!

ok i dont have to move the tank anymore :D

theyve put the sofa in front of it, but its a small sofa so it doesnt block any of the tank :D

ive identified the green algae type thing on the left as Neomeris sp.

help me with my last fishy :)

gold rainfords are nice! so are canary wrasses for a dash of yellow ! a yasha and shrimp pair would be cool.

hawkfish are nice too particualary flame and falco.

leopard or pygmy wrasse also lovely fish.

o and tank looks good, love 6lines such charecters!

thanks shibby.

I have a problem now, my 6 line is really aggressive towards my 2 clowns, i dont know whether this might calm down or whether i should take him back?

i will be quite sad if i have to take him back because ive been after one for quite a while and its so nice :(

well, woke up this morning to find that one of my hermits was feasting on one of my astreas :(

went into my lfs to pick something up and decided that id take a chance on the gold rainfords goby, i understand its quite difficult to keep but i constantly have hair algae, lots of pods and also i have red algae strips so i should be ok

thanks,

oops forget tosay i was picking it up next saturday  i need time to catch my pajama wrasse (involves taking the whole tank apart :() so that the rainfords will be able to settle in without being picked on!

This is a great journal. I am considering this tank myself and wondered if you could tell me what your thoughts are regarding pros and cons with this tank. You've done a great job so far :D

thanks jenny :)

just an update before the pros/cons bit. I had to catch my pyjama wrasse by taking apart the whole tank, once id caught it, it was too late to go to the lfs so its floting in a bag until tommorow. The aquascaping was much more difficult than last time and ive decided to take the tonga rock back to the lfs as i didnt really like it. Also i finally managed to get my giant fossilised clam on show!

the tank is great,

the pros are:

  • Has 3 compartments in the back that con be used as your filtration
The 1st compartment is big enough for a skimmer if you move your heater to the third compartment
The 2nd compartment can be modded with a light to make a fuge
    blue background
comes with lights so you dont have to mess around trying to get your own lighting

cons:

  • Powerheads combined are not powerful enough (most mod by taking out the top pump and add a maxijet 1200)
comes with ceramic rings/bioballs which arent really of any use in marines
some complain that the heater is rubbish but ive round it to be good

thats about it with cons

hth :good:

Avoid the rainsfods goby. They're exceptionally picky eaters and don't do well in home aquaria

i was going to but he's taking some prepared food at the lfs and i have lots of hair algae and pods

just to add, after moving my tank around i have found another hitchhiker...a bristleworm...i dont realy know if this is normal but he has a red top?

the goby has turned out (accidently fell across this) to be a Hector's Goby, not a Rainfords goby

dont know if this makes it any better
