hi joe - im sort of like you, i have a large tank with 4 silver dollars - however, i do believe you can mix cichlids - as i have to be honest, heres a vid - they all live in a well balanced tank - treated like gods, fed like queens.

I have 6 extra large corys just ur average browns, and one that I'm not too sure of a name, it has different coloured markings on him

Welcome to the forum joecampbell.
I don't think you are alone in keeping cichlids with a community. I have angels, as do many people, in my community. I also have 7 Herotilapia multispinosa in that community tank. The tank is a generally peaceful community of mostly small fish like mollies, platies and rasboras. The Herotilapia are about 4 to 5 inches plus tails so not exactly small. I also have little sparkling gouramis in the same tank and even a male betta splendens. The bottom has a few different species of cories that I got over time.

i have two clown loaches about 5-6k too, i knew i forgot some lol.
