I went to my lfs today and I saw a 10 inch Flowerhorn cichlid. It was so interactive and it seemed like a great fish to keep. I am aware they need to be in a tank alone and decor needs to be kept to a minimum, but does anyone have any experience with these fish? After seeing it today I really want to look into getting one :hey:.

It's one fish that I've never kept, but always wanted.

If you have the tank size and would like to have only one fish in it, go for it.

I haven’t purchased a tank yet so i’m open to options, i’m thinking a 40 gallon breeder as this is what I had before.

A 40 breeder is a great tank and you have a lot of options for stocking. Sadly, it wouldn't be big enough to keep a flowerhorn.

I'd say a 75 gallon would be minimum for just 1 flowerhorn with no tank mates.

Oh, maybe I will rethink.
