Opinions needed

i hav a 55 gallon tank filled with fish, but the type of fish i like the most is really aggressive, mean, and vicious fishes, so i am thinkin of getting a betta and a tank for itself. now, all i need is everybodies opinion on which type of betta is the most aggressive, mean, and vicious of all types. thanks agian for ur support n opinions.

Bettas are aggressive towards their like and likenesses, but they are not mean. Oscars are aggressive AND mean. But I think I know what you are looking for.


Get a Pacu. I saw the cutest little one in my LFS. He was no more than 2 inches.

Just a little fyi - don't get an oscar unless you plan on leaving the 55 all to himself. They're VERY aggressive and don't get along with anybody else, not to mention they get extremely large. 55 gallons is the minimum size tank (you can thank freshmike for that piece of info, hehe). Anyways, bettas are plenty aggressive to their own kind - they're great fish if you wanted a bit smaller tank.

a pacu will outgrow the 55 gallon tank in no time! I know I had 2 of them..... and oscars are not aggressive and mean..... not really... they just have little temper tantrums and eat what ever will fit at least half way into their mouths a minimum tank requirement for a full grown pacu is 200 gallons at least for them to live comfortably. That 2 inch pacu will grow to be about 24 inches when mature.
