Opalines, How Big

i thought i saw a huge opaline gourami in the fish shop but i was rushed out by my dad holding a bag o fish, i was wondering do they get bigger than about 8 cms?

also .... i thought i saw a huge oscar anyone know exactly how big they get......it looked about 15 inches.
one in the shops are like 4 inches

I would say 10-15 inches for an adult oscar is considered average size. Opalines on the other hand, I dont think ive ever seen tham any bigger than 10 cm.

Opaline Gourami can hit 5" or so total length so about 15cm.

Oscars get HUGE the ones you see in LFS tend to be juveniles between 2-4 inches, if you saw a big one chances are it is one someone brought in because they could no longer house it. Lovely fish if you have a big enough tank!

When I got my opaline it was under 2" - it was smaller than the dwarf it shares a tank with. It's now about 5" in size and hasn't really grown in awhile. Very pretty, active fish albeit a little larger than I thought. The little dwarf still picks on him too.
