The worst is when you have a sump, so the tank doesn't overflow... but the filter does! That one has almost happened to me before.

ergh yeah we flooded the kitchen with the RO unit several times.

get a bigger bucket and then fill it up and put the bucket above the level of the tank and then siphon from it, it is so much easier! all you have to do is hold the ends of the tube! or get some tape and tape the ends to the, so you have youre hands free. that way you can do something else saving time and you wont overflow as if you take out 10 litres and youre bucket is 10litres you know it will only put that much into youre tank. so you can go and leave it an hour and know it will be ok. it will onlt take about 2-3 mins to siphon 10l
