I'm considering ordering something online (once I figure out what I want to do with my spare tank).

Have any of you successfully ordered from online? If so where?

I'd prefer somewhere in the US, but I'm open to all recommendations.

This is completely my personal opinion but I do not find any business case why you should buy a pair of platys for $4 online and then pay $20 for shipping when you can buy the same pair for $4 in your LFS (unless these fishes are one-of-a-kind , exotic stuff only available online).

You are completely right. Though I'm tired of walking through the three lfs I have around me and seeing the same exact things. Each store has the same stuff at about the same prices and I want something different.

If you buy fish online, it's best to buy enough to make the shipping more reasonable ($40 shipping for 20 fish isn't so bad). If the LFS you visit dont have what you want, they should be able to order them on their next order and save you the shipping. If you are talking about equipment though, you can't beat online prices except for tanks which are way too expensive online because of the freight involved.

Talking fish. I already get equipment online. I've asked about ordering fish in and one of them won't and one of them will. Though they never know when they will get what they want and I haven't been able to catch the manager that will hold stuff. So, if I don't catch her soon then I'm just looking into ordering myself.

In a continuation to the original question, has anyone had any good or bad experiences with online ordering (fish, not equipment) in the UK? tropicalfish4u.co.uk for example have a much better range than is offered in my 4 LFS but we're worried about stress on the fish.
