Ok, I've posted it here because it's not specifically about my tank or a plant I want in my tank, but has anyone ever bought aquatic plants of the net and if so, where from? Cheers guys

:D

I've bought plants from plantsalive.co.uk, which led to horrible quality plants. All the stem plants were destroyed on arrival. The floating plants had moth larvae in them, and the potted plants were just the bunched plants in pots. And I mean literally, they took the bunched plant and put it in the pot (effectively charging £0.50 for a 3cm plastic pot). They never even took of the lead weight or foam. I contacted them and they replaced my order promptly, but had the exact same results - useless plants.

No now I only buy tropica plants from aquaessentials.co.uk. They are more expensive, but the quality and service makes it well worth it. The packaging is really good and delivery time is great too.
So far I've ordered plants from them 4 times, and am very pleased every time! :good:.

I've bought off eBay a couple of times. Mainly because it's a lot cheaper. When I set up my new tank I got 25 various plants (things like amazon swords and vallisneria etc). All for £5 delivered. And I'd say that 75% was in good condition. If I bought these plants from my LFS I think it would have cost 3 or 4 times as much. And the plants weren't weighted down with leads so they can root properly.

If you want to know who I got them from let me know and I'll PM you the details.

Thanks! My local LFS doesn't have much choice so I think i'm gonna have to resort to buying online. That's a bit naughty of the first people to send you plants in that condition!

I have bought plants from aquaessentials and birstall (http://www.birstall.co.uk) before, always got good quality plants from both.
