Online fish store

No, honestly I have never ordered online.

But, I don’t really believe in putting a fish in a plastic bag and then sending on a bully ride across the face of the earth. I would think the fish would get super disoriented and dizzy.

I have always picked my fish out at my LFS. My LFS can also order fish for me.
If that’s your belief, then why did you allow me to ship you shrimp and snails ?

Shrimp and snails are different IMO. Snails are super hardy as it is and shrimp can go through a lot.

I guess I just don’t believe in bettas being shipped, or other smaller, more fragile fish.

As I said, that’s just my opinion. :)

How do you think many of these fish get to the LFS? Either way, in many cases they will be shipped.

Personally I think 40% of fishes died during shipping.

No offense, really but you shouldn’t give opinions on things you know nothing about. Experience is the key. I have had plenty of experience in having fish shipped and I know it is perfectly safe. I can compare my lfs purchased fish to my on-line purchased and tell you for a fact that my on-line purchased are better quality. You buy direct with less handling. I just hate for you to mis-lead people with incorrect information. LFS get the lower quality fish as a general rule. Believe me, lfs fish have been shipped too in far less than pristine conditions. On-line sellers pack their fish carefully and have a reputation to keep. They provide heat/cold packs according to temp needs of the place they are shipping to. That’s why purchasing on line is a better way to go if your looking for quality. I realize with shipping cost this isn’t an option for all.

Ok, I was just trying to help.
I understand but misinformation is not helpful to anyone. I realize that for some reason you want to get your post numbers up but just responding to everything isn’t helpful to others. :)

I’m not just on TFF to get my post number up. I enjoy helping people.

I have to disagree with some of this. Local fish shops get exactly the same fish as everyone else. They all come from Asia or Germany (mostly Asia). The difference is in how the fish are handled at the shops. Some shops are better with their fish care than other shops.

Online sellers get the same fish as shops and they handle them in the same manor. About the only real difference is if the online shop imports their fish directly, then they are an importer that sells to the public. This would reduce handling a bit because the fish aren't being imported and then sold to shops. But again if the shops look after their fish properly, they do just as well.

As for packing fish with hot or cold packs, they do that to keep the water temperature in the fish bags more stable during the shipping process. If you buy fish from a local shop the fish are normally only in a bag for a short time while they go from the shop to your house. If you have to travel a long way, wrap the bag of fish in a towel and put them in an esky.

I have to disagree with you but we do that at times. The breeders and sellers I deal with buy direct. There’s no middle men taking them to Petco and separating them out and sending in a truck to the local store. I myself pull my moor’s directly out of my tank, fast them and ship directly to the buyer although I stopped shipping this year. My lfs gets her bettas the same way through a transporter just like a Petco.
