Given the choices in my "local" fish shops (45 minutes drive away), I'd take the chance. I can get "stray moggy" or "brownish blue" or maybe "purplish brown". Don't get me wrong - Brucie's a lovely personality, but he isn't the shiniest betta you've ever seen. I keep giving him colour-enhancing food in the vain hope I can make a silk purse out of a sow's ear.Lateral Line said:I have no doubt of Monty's honesty, but Betta's are so much a matter of individual taste. If I asked for a COMPLETELY red one, okay, maybe, but a blue one with red edges to the fins? See what I mean, that could be interpreted in any of a dozen different ways.
