The pair is showing signs of aggression toward the other four, so I'm moving the spares into a 45 gallon QT medicated with Melafix. The two smallest have developed a fungal infection on their torn fins (I bought them with very messed up fins), so I hope they recover. I believe the stores we bought them from will take them back if I explain why, but we won't be able to until late June. (vacation plans) I just hope my mother will allow me to return them, since she's the one who wanted angelfish and bought them in the first place.

Sorry for bringing this topic back to life again.

don't worry, that's what these threads are for - to re-visit if needed.

I suspected this would happen once they paired off so you're doing the right thing by separating them. I'll wait for the next post that will be something down the lines of "I have angelfish eggs"

just been to look and left you a comment :D

My mother does not want to get rid of the other four angels, so the pair may be going. I'll try not to update this thread much more after this, since we don't have a concrete plan of what's happening.

that's such a shame - if you let them go. The breeding process is lovely to watch ... watching them attempt to raise young is part of fish keeping to me :)
