one quick question

i have a fluval 304 i need to clean the inside of it. The media part. I unpluged it and waited a few minutes, i went to open it and water started rushing everywhere. How do i empty this so i dont spill all the water everywhere

Hi,

did you close the valves on the inlet and outlet pipes (just above the canister)?

i have a fluval 203 (same design) and did the same thing with mine on my first clean! Just opened the lid on the canister and water started pouring everywhere!!

realised what i had done straight away (luckily) and closed the valves in time to avoid having to call the insurance man to get the carpet replaced!!

Still, enough water came out to let me do a 20% water change. and the first thing I do now on "aquarium maintenance day"....close the valves.
