I bought some ghost shrimp as a treat for some of my bigger fish today, and there were a couple of guppy fry mixed in... you just can't keep them out of anything.
As much as I dislike guppies, I don't like to use fish as live food... so I popped them into my betta fry tank
The bettas find them quite amusing, and it's actually kinda hard to spot them because they're almost exactly the same size, haha. They're just lucky I have a spawn going right now, because they'd be eaten in every other tank I have... gotta love those predatory fish!

I used to do that a lot. :) If I had Guppy fry about the same size as Betta fry, they'd live together until I jarred the Bettas. Worked great, and the Gups loved it. They all lived together in complete peace and harmony. By the time I had to jar the Bettas, the Guppy fry were usually big enough to go in with their parents, so it all worked out perfectly.

The bettas got grindal worms today, and I've never seen happier guppies
They're probably thinking "Gee, this lady feeds us like kings!! Lucky we ended up here instead of inside an oscar!"

Those betta fry are so cute. I wish I could get my bettas to spawn. I have a real pretty female that is just waiting for a man and I cant find one that will mate with her for some reason. Any suggestions to make my males want to start work with thier nest????

yes, let him "spar" with another male for a bit, guaranteed to spur on the mating urge

Fry looking good and healthy :) Lots of red. Im guessing you used a red veiltail?

Veiltail? Not on your life! :p
Red cambodian DT plakat female and copper plakat male

Lol sorry no offence intended :p they just looked so much like the fry in my my lfs which were apparently bred from a veiltail. But i guess i was stupid considering they roughly start growing their fins at the same time

Oh no offence taken, I was just being silly ;)

What makes a fish Cambodian? Is it a color?

Fish are generally refered to as cambodian when they have red fins and a light skin-toned body, but I guess it could apply to pretty much any fin colour as long as the fins are a solid colour and the body is light.
