I don't know what they have against pen lids but mine go crazy when there's a pen near by

might be, i tried the pen lid and he just looked at me like i was stupid....so i got out the mirror again and he hid behind the leaves...wussy

That's weird. A lot of bettas flare at the pen lid, even ones at the lfs flare at them. So I'm guessing he is just one lazy betta, you should name him Garfield
