One Of My Apples Died

Hi everyone, I was just curious... I came home from work today, to find an empty Snail shell from one of my snails. What happened?! A few of u know my tank specs already (as far as tank-mates) but I will list them again, and I do not have any snail eaters... that I know of O>O;

1 Pictus Cat.
Another Catfish, i think it starts with a P
4 Australian Rainbow Fish
2 Rubber Lip Plecos
1 Needle Fish
1 BGK
1 Peacock Eel
2 Apple Snails (WAS 3...)
3 little Trumpet Snials

Bala sharks will eat snails. They no clown loaches, but they will eat them. Some catfish will eat snails, too, but I'd say the balas are the likely suspect.

According to this, they pull them right out of the shells, which sounds like what you had happen.

ahh..! My Balas... I love em, but now that they may be the casue of the 'snail eating' then possibly for sure now they need to be re-homed. Anyone want 2 Balas?
