I just noticed today that my betta Caine isn't flaring quite right.
He's been acting normal.. very active and whatnot... but when he flares up one of his gils (his left one) doesn't flare out while the other will flare our as normal.
The gil seems to be working as normal b/c I see that side moving, but it's not flaring.

There MIGHT be some swelling on that side of his face, but it's so hard to tell b/c if there is any kind of swelling, it's very minimul so you can't see anything.

If there is swelling, what could've caused it? Nothing in his tank is sharp enough for him to get injured on. He isn't flicking or scratching or anything. Acting 100% normal cept for the gil.

It doesn't sound that serious. Unless another symptom appears I wouldn't worry to much. :good:

he might have gill disease. if there is swelling and redness he could have it.

I didn't mean that the gil itself is swollen..... I meant that there might be a slight bump on the side of his head close to his eye.
I really don't think there is though.. I just mention it just in case.

There's no redness. His gils seem just fine cept for when he flares.. that's it.
I'll keep a close eye on him though.
