I have two convicts one pink one black. I thought that the pink one was a male due to the fact that i showed no sign of any pink or redish color on its belly. But now the pink one is showing redish color and lately the black one has been chasing the pink one around my tank very frequently. I have a US 30g long tank and the only other fish in the tank is a pleco. What is going on with my fish?

If you see the coloring on both of their belly's then yes, they are prob both females. If they are male and female, they will most likely breed eventually. I believe that convicts are prob one of the easiest cichlids to breed

Yes they both show signs of coloring. But the black one has always had the coloring, now just recently the pink one is showing it. The black one (female) is the one who always chaises the pink one around. Isnt this a little weird? Do females have beef?

Has anyone else experienced convict on convict crime? Is this uncommon? Will maybe getting a "sure male" bring some order to the tank? Also what are some signs to look for when trying to get a MALE? I kno that with the females it is the redish/orange on the bellys that is a give a way. So what to look for in the males?

be warned: if you get a male, then you will need to remove one of the females. once two of them pair up, they will try to kill the third.

yeh,and seriously you will need a place to put the fry, they breeding amasingly fast.
