Any one confirm that this is a Juwel Rio 180? Going by the measurements I think so. Was only advertised as a Juwel aquarium...

Dimensions H=550mm, D=410mm, L=1002mm

Now I have to try and get it home :D

Thanks :) I've been trying to source a new tank for the last week or so after deciding it needed to be done. This is going to be my first real tropical setup (curretly have a 24"x12x12 with a CAE init).

Won this for just over £70. Filter and everything working, and comes with gravel which is a plus.

It looks like a Rio 180. However if those measurements are right, its a tiny bit taller than a Rio 180 (5cm extra). The stand also looks different from the stand they currently sell with the Rio series. It may be a slightly older (or newer) version of the stand to the one I have though. All in all its a very nice tank for the price you paid :good:

Thanks :) This is essentially my birthday present to myself :) Plus half the money is coming from a late xmas present from a relative :) So looking forward to setting up now!

This means I need to start thinking about stocking it! OMG, new fish! :D

Sorry, little excited ;)

I would drain that and bleach it all and then recycle the tank. You never know what people do to their tank or why they wanted to sell it.

defiantely :)

Claims its a healthy tank, no copper meds or anything like that used. They upgraded to a bigger tank so selling this one.

you did good there, sorry dont know what it is, in my world as long as i holds water it's a tank. :hyper:
dont get me wrong i dont use buckets to keep my cories in :hyper:

i love watching the tanks on ebay, im too nosey for my own good and i was just saying the other day to a mate how almost every tank seems to have bids on them, i have noticed though for people looking for tanks that if you search on ebay for GLASS TANKS instead of tropical fish tanks you can actually get a real good deal on some.

i'm addicted to ebay im afraid   :hyper: :hyper:

You might want to think about purchasing a copper test kit. Fill the tank up with tap water over night and then test for copper. Of course make sure that the tap water that you add doesn't contain any copper or that would through your test results off.

Thanks for the comments guys :) I'm considering how to stock it now... Everything revolves around a 5" slightly grumpy CAE as it stands. Thinking maybe small peacefuly fish, or slightly aggressive (but not insane) fish (ie, tiger barbs etc).

Went and collected the beasty tonight. My god, its huge! I've started to give it a good clean, but I don't think I'll be able to take it outside and clean the inside without an extra pair of hands :| On the plus side, the guy did clean it himself so I might risk it. I've given everything else a damned good clean, antibacterial and stuff (only on outside sections) and wiped it all down.

The chap was saying he kept cichlids in it but had to rehome them as he got married and the wife was making him get rid of a few tanks. Still, he's allowed to keep a huge Trigon 360 :D

Anyhow, nsure about this Juwel filter. Its all there appart from a spray bar, and the powerhead has been replaced recently. The outlet doesn't seem to fit on very tightly, but I guess it'll be ok.

Its got 1 standard tube in it and 1 marine blue. Think I'll replace that when I have the money.

Can't wait to get some substrate in there now! So glad I'm on holiday all week :D I'll post some pics tomorrow of progress :)
