Omg Its The Farlowella

Anybody answer my last reply plz. I'm getting the Farlowella tommorow!

Dojo's are coldwater and should be kept between 10-20C and should really be kept in unheated tanks.
And the higher the temperature, the shorter the life span.

Farlowella need temepratures of closer to 26C - so there's quite a discrepancy there.

So no - I wouldn't keep them together. But in light of your other tank mates, you should perhaps provide a setup for the dojo's they'd be happy in (cold water) and then you could add the farlowella.

Im not talking about temperature, i alrdy have dojo loaches. Im just wondering if they will bother him.

Well that's not the point is it? Do you want to force animals with different requirements to live in conditions not suitable?
How would you yourself feel living in conditions far from ideal? Not happy huh?

But if you insist, go ahead and watch them die
Farlowella are sensitive creatures. Perhaps you'll just have to find out how sensitive. Because sadly it sounds like you want an answer that you're not going to get.
It's not OK.

I GOT The FARLOWELLA!!! Apperently we have no problems yet. My CAE is very small and wont bother it. My dojo loaches just stay behind my building during the day like always, while the farlowella is actually in the front and is not afraid of me. This fish is very calm and stays out with no fear. I love him alrdy. He is about 4 1/2 - 5 inches. I'll post pictures tommorrow. Lets see how my farlowella does through the night, when the dojo loaches come out and lurk.

Here are the pics!!!!

For the fish's sakes, I sincerely hope they do well. They would have a better chance if you were to add some real bogwood and real plants.

Yet.

No offense, but what's the point in asking folks if you're not going to listen? The CAE will terrorise it in a couple of months (if not immediately), the dojos need completely different water conditions (you are seriously shortening their lifespan by keeping them in conditions that they're not used to - the warm temps will be raising their metabolism therefore shortening their lives and creating more waste), there's no bogwood for the plecs to eat (which they need)....you may as well have not bothered posting as it seems you had no intentions of listening to advice.

I'm still wishing you the best of luck - if you rehome the CAE and dojos (or get them their own tanks) and add some bogwood and plants and hiding places for the farlowella, you'll be on to a good one ;)

But as it is, it's pretty much a recipe for disaster...

Ditto Lisa - you ask advice, its given.

No one has said to you 'you can't keep the CAE with xxx or yyy' purely to annoy you, or to upset you, no one has pointed out that dojo loaches require a cooler temperature than your other fish to wind you up or get at you either.....

This advice is so that your fish live a natural lifespan, and show their natural colours and behaviour, so that you can enjoy them to the full.

As well as doing the things suggested, ie suitable tank for the dojo's at the temperature they prefer, return the CAE (which are truly EVIL creatures when more mature, horrid little things), personally id suggest you change the gravel in your tank - its far too bright for the farlowella - they are shy nocturnal things, a bright sharply lit environment with pale substrate will stress them out and that will shorten the life span. For the same reasons id provide more planting and of course bogwood which isnt for decoration, its a dietary requirement!

Or you could ignore us all but dont be surprised when you struggle to get advice in future as to why your fish are dying.
