Omg Help!

I just now discovered that my dwarf frogs right arm is gone! One of my firggin fishes ate it! Problem is thou i dont know which one did it.

I have

- 4 swordfish ( 3 female 1 male)
- 1 RTBS ( I know its too small for him Im gonna give him away)
- 1 "common" Plec
- 1 Black Angel
- 3 Zebra Dainos
- 3 Cherry Barbs
- 1 Spotted Cory (buying more soon)
- 2 kuli loaches

I have a 20 gallon and I know that some fish are too big so please dont tell me what i need to do about the tank size and all. Just focus on answering my question.

Plz reply ASAP, cause I dont want to wake up to my little frog all eaten up and everything.

P.S. Will he grow his arm back like salamanders do thier tails?

Could have been the angel or black shark.. maybe a barb.. but more likely to be an angel or blak shark.

What a mess can you issolate the frog, and i don't no anything about them, red tail shark or the common plec could be the culprit.
You need to start researching your fish instead of saying i no it's overstocked.
As the tank is a mess, for a start a red tailed shark needs a 40gal tank, plus the angel needs a 30gal, corys should never be kept on there own no less than three.
Sorry about the frog bless him but i don't know what to recommend.

Yea im gonna give the shark and the angel away to my dads friend who has a 50 gal. So they should be happy there. When they leave am planning on visiting the LFS as soon as they get some german blue rams in stock. It wil get fixed.

My dad suggested a theory.....

He says that mabye durning the night the frog probably was hiding behind a rock or something and his arm was sticking out and a fish probably thought it was a worm and went for it.

You could probably add melafix, I've used melafix with frogs before. It's not going to grow back it's arm. RTBs don't like other bottomfeeders, and angels often don't like any other things.. so could be either of them.

Well a red tailed shark inside that tank makes sense, as they are aggressive, bless the frog , but red tailed sharks will even be more aggressive in a small tank as he wants it to him self, and if it is the shark he won't stop there, s watch out for some fish going missing, he one pissed off fish.

I dont think hes big enough to eat another fish, the only fish that he could possibly eat would be my zebra dainos. All my other fish are his size.

Ok, sort it out, as it's for the best, as for the frog don't know bless him, you could ask in the right part of the forum about him.

Bless him, whenever I look at my tank hes always floating up on the water instead of on the bottom. Im guessing hes paraniod cause it hardly never went to the top of the water. Hopefully when I remove the shark and the angel he'll calm down.

Im pretty sure it was the angel that did it.
Since the RTBS has a mouth of a bottom feeder and doesnt have teeth that he wouldnt likely be able to eat the arm ( unless he sucked on it till it came off).

The angel on the other hand has teeth and it has a beakish mouth, but I never saw him annoy or attack the frog at any time ( unlike the RTBS when he "flea bites" him)

Another P.S
Will he grow muscle (fat) or skin over the bone thats skicking out? Cause I dont really like looking at that painful reminder.

It should do i think, ask in the frog section bless him, he sounds stressed he might not make it, the rip off arm could get infected so need to ask what med you could use, good luck.

HES DEAD ..........


I just now went upstairs to check on him and hes lying upside down on the bottom. I tried to scoop him up but he kicked. I dont know if hes still dying or if its just his nervous system.

He was a good froggy

Well when I buy another frog Ill know what to do. And im giving the angel and the RTBS to my friends dad in 4 hrs.

Or bless him, so sad, yes the can twitch after death, just make sure he is dead though, good luck with rehoming the rtbs and angel.
