There isn't sufficient evidence, you can't just add two and two together, and say she's guilty, every piece of evidence must prove beyond all reasonable doubt that she is guilty, the jury can't just say what they think she is, they must make an informed decision based on evidence.

I'm not familiar with the case but your legal system is weird, it's no wonder you have people suing for millions over petty things when the outcome is decided by jury.

A jury cannot convict someone unless there is proof beyond all reasonable doubt, that is how it works in the UK, there must be a similar burden of proof in the US.

I did read that she'd be charged on 4 counts of perverting the course of justice or whatever the US equivalent is however.

The legal system is broken. Withouth hard evidence they were able to let Casey Anthony and OJ Simpsom go free, but recently had to let a man out of prison who had served 20 years for a crime that they finally proved he didn't do. Where was the hard evidence that got that innocent man put in prison? I try not to pay attention to the justice system, and I try not to get involved in the cases that they report about. It's heartbreaking

I covered crime for years as a newspaper reporter, and was a newspaper editor supervising crime reporters after that.

It seems Americans have lost their minds over this verdict. But none of them were in the courtroom, listening and seeing as the jury did every single moment of testimony and evidence. It's so easy to stand in judgment, but it's not really our place to do that, is it?

The Americans in the courtroom lost their mind. The rest of the Americans seem to be very upset over the verdict and say she should be guilty. I should know, I'm American and my peers all agree she should've been guilty. I don't know, you think the people attending court were bribed somehow... maybe blackmailed, I don't know.... It seems like something strange was going on behind the scenes.

Also on the news here in America, there were many many Americans holding protests signs complaining Casey Anthony should have deserved full charges. Also many people on the internet are complaining about the verdict.

Those people weren't present at the court hearing so haven't had access to full evidence, they only know what the media has told them so their opinions are biased.

Perhaps. I usually don't go into politics because I can never get firsthand knowledge you know. My friends were so riled up I was prone to believing them ahah XD. Well I guess I won't form any opinions of this case after all :3
