Omg Build A Nest Already!

strawberry shortcake is in love, in fact so in love that he cant be bothered to get away from the chimney and build a nest. this is the same little bugger that builds me huge nests just atached to the wall in his tank. build little buddy build! if he does not start building im not sure what to do, how long can the female stay in the chimney and not get stressed out?

How long have they been in there for? You're supposed to leave the female in the chimney for two days before you even let her out the first time, so if he hasn't built a nest by then there's something a bit wrong with him lol.

Hope he's built something by now Newfishy. I had one do the same once. He spent all his time flirting with the girl in the chimney and never blew one single solitary bubble

If it were me I would only leave her in for a week at the most, then put her back in her tank and start again. Maybe with her absence it will motivate him more when she comes back!!!

Or you could chimney up another girl to see if he reacts more positively, if he then builds a nest you could put the orginal girl back in.

I read from someone on this forum that a good way to encourage a bubblenest is to take a spoonful of bubbles from another one of your bettas bubblenests and place it under the cup. I tried it and it works!

hasnt it rained for a few days, a few days ago, new fishy? try adding cold water to the tank to make them feel the rain!! that might work.
