I have actually got a spare set up though since replo died. :/
Went to aquatic centre and they must have had about 8 fell in love with a boy who I will post piccies of later.
And, they had a tank of females! Very small and brown and 50% had stress stripes. Talking to the girl she said they had them shipped in as people had asked for them. She said they were wild caught and had been anesthatised (sorry sp!) and they were almost dead when they arrived. They have had them a week, and they didnt look happy girls. I asked if she ever had any different tail types in, she said no because people didnt buy them! :look: I was only going to buy sick bettas in but gosh they had some lovely colours in today. :good:

ooo liz you are naughty! did you rescue this guy or was he just too hawt to resist? cant wait to see some pics. :good:

He is a veil tail isnt he,? his tail is awesome, all sort of fringes.

edited with better piccies!

replying to myself to get thread back up but can someone please say if he is just a veil tail. none of my other VTs have got a fringe like my CTs? comments please gang!

Personally, I think that the "fringe" looks more like the results of fin rot that is on the mend than CT spikiness. He's a pretty boy either way. :)

Looks like damage to me or could be coming, hard to tell. Just keep his water nice and clean and a pinch of salt so no infection sets in.

Going to have to slap your fingers though if you come back with another

:D says Jo who has converted half her house to accommodate her friends! :S

 You bunch. But bettas are so hard to resist! And he is a lovely fella. I have a VT with a spiked edge. Am sure he has CT blood in him somewhere, although his is far more even across the tail without what looks like a nip from the middle of the tail on your boy. Only way you'll find out is to keep watch over the next month. If it has growing to do it'll do it and you'll have a clearer picture of his true tail form. :good:

:) Thank you Miss D D, that was a super and intelligent answer! tee hee ..and helpful!

 Lol first time anyones accused me of being intelligent or super. Even if it was with a giggle.
This is Prickles. I think you can see in this pic the tail edge and how it is serrated. Hence his name. The pic was taken some while back. He's going a little grey around the gills these days, bless him. They get so laid back as they get older.
