OMG Betta Tank on Ebay absurd!

True, but still don't see the point of keeping it in a glass block. There are many attractive real betta tanks out there. Oh, well, I sleep easy at night knowing I have at least saved one Betta from a life like that. He's very happy in his warm 10g tank! :D
Yep. I love my eclipse tank and it cost the same as that glass block. Much easier for feedings and water changes, not to mention that it's filtered, and it looks fine to me. My betta dresses it up nicely. :D

Also what about a plant? My guy loves to curl up in the leaves of his fake plant (just looked over and he's doing just that right now) but I don't see how anything can be added to that glass block. Anything fatter than 3/4" that is.

Possible it comes with a sticker that say break here if you need to clean and a hammer............

He didn't answer my questions on the webpage, but emailed responses to me.

Question #1:
"After reading your response to Jennie's question, I guarantee you that I will not be buying one of these cubes.
One of a kind, yes, but are they safe for a fish? How would you like living in a closet, where you're poured in using a funnel through a hole that is less than a foot wide? I'm sure you wouldn't appreciate it, and I guarantee you the betta wouldn't either.
It should also be cleaned every 3-5 days as opposed to a month. I suggest that you check out www.fishforums.net because they explain there how to actually care for a fish. A fish produces ammonia, which is toxic to them. The buildup over a month would kill the fish.
Do you really think that this is a fish-safe item?"

safe from what? animals can't get into it, kids can't get into it. It weights around 20lbs when its full so they really can't knock it over and that goes with animals too.

I know plenty about betta's and I've been doing this for along time without any problems. And Also I'm not asking you to buy one.

Interesting how they chose to reply to my original question as opposed to the one I'd written back. This is what I'd written after receiving the first email.
I think you just answered your own question. "animals can't get into it" A fish
is an animal, isn't it? It's not an appropriate home for a betta. It's not a
matter of the cube being safe from anything else, it's a matter of it being
safe for the fish to live in. It is not an appropriate home for a fish, and
it's relatively inhumane for one to live in it.

Once again, take a look at http://www.fishforums.com for a bit of accurate
information on fishkeeping.

I'm so glad that I don't buy stuff from eBay.

ehhh, now don't go dragging Ebay into this. Ebay doesn't endorse the items sold, it is just a place to sell your items. They don't review any items sold...that's how you can sell and buy there so cheaply...because it isn't monitored.

This is one mis-informed person, with a gimmicky product that we don't find to be suitable for the purpose intended.

People like this seller will never see the light you are trying to shine on them...because they already know the light...and that light is the sheen coming off the money they will make.

He knew exactly what we were after and worded his responses in hopes that someone who doesn't know (like the person who bid on this product) may come along and see something "neat" or "cute", read that it is "ok", and subsequently buy it.

He is a saleman...check out what he bought (the only feedback on Ebay he has matter o fact) and you'll see where it's coming from.
