I haven't had a fish tank for over 50 years. I have always wanted to have one but never seemed to have the time for one.
Well I took the plunge.
I am a retired antique dealer, whatever that means. I have not bought anything for a week now and I was in NJ selling this past Sunday. I will be going to KY to a national tool meeting later in the month.
I spent 16 years working for Burroughs Corp. Working my up to repairing main frames in the computer line.
I spent 6 years in the military, serving in German and Vietnam.
I live in beautiful upstate New York in a home that probably dates from 1800, almost an 18th century house. Lucky for me that living room floor is reinforced with a steel beam so I can have a 75-gallon tank in there.
I will look to this group for guidance for my newly reactivated hobby.

Glad you’re here William . This is a good group here and you will fit right in with us in no time . Mostly older guys and a sprinkling of womenfolk . One question though , how does an antique dealer retire ? Seems to me that the older you get the more qualified you are to judge antiques . What kind of fish do you like ?

Hi and welcome to the forum :)

I would love to work in an antique shop. All the old furniture, paintings, cutlery, jewellery. They don't make stuff (furniture) like that anymore, it's all crap now.
You'd fit right into an antique shop 🤭 they certainly don't make them like you anymore 😁❤️

Hello 👋🏻 welcome aboard matey! Looking forward to following your journey back into fish keeping ☺️

Hi Bill,

Sorry this response is late but I missed your initial post. :hi:

Bill was a LONG time member and served MANY years as part of the staff on the computer help forums I used to have. Actually he was there longer than myself... I didn't start the site, just inherited. ;)
