Ok To Drill Holes On Sides Of Cabinet?

I've got a juwel rio125. I want to raise the bottom shelf a few CM's which means drilling 4 new holes on the sides of the cabinet to put the little plugs. Just wondering if this is safe to do considering the weight of the water on top?

I would say yep absolutely no problem, but the shelf will help keep the stand rigid so as long as it's still there

Not a good idea to drill holes in the side of the tank though....
