Ok So Im Doing Reserch And All Im Finding Is Confustion

i have a couple questions

1) do betta need filters?
because im finding online that they don't... but im not sure because i would think that they would need a filter. i seen that they would need a fitler that would not pull too much/ not create too much curtent because that would upset the betta
2) would a betta be upset by an air stone?
3) what would be good plants to put in with them?
i heard "cabomba caroliniana" and floating plants would be good for them
4) how many times should i feed him?
i heard twice a day, every other day, and every couple of days.
5) does the frozen pea thing work? and should i feed him a quater of a frozen pea (thawed out of course) once a week?
6) is 5 gallons the best size tank for one male betta?
7) should the water temp be 75 to 80 F?
8) the ph level should be 6.5?
9)should i put aquarim salt in the tank as well?
i have heard that i should put one rounded tablespoon of aquarim salt in a 5 gallon fishtank for a betta because it will help with the electrtes or something.
10) i wnat to make this fish happy and have a healthy life is there anything else anyone can think of before i go and get a betta?

1. Hell yeah!
2. depends on how fast bubble come out, and you should have an airstone at the end, not just naked tubing. the betta won't like large, loud and bumpy bubbles.
4. Once every day is fine, but you can skip a day every week if you'd like.
5. yes, it would be a good idea to feed a pea.

9. i find salt to be annoying as it evaporates and cakes up on top of the tank, but it is good to prevent infection/healing wounds.
(not really sure about 3, 8 and 10)

Any plant will be nice for them. Some floating plants are great and I also like the idea of putting a small anubias in the tank as it has stiff leaves that the Betta can rest on. My Betta also likes a bit of java moss for ground cover as it catches little bits of food and attracts copepods for him to snack on!

2) as long as its not too powerful should be fine
3) any really, i have Cabomba, Java fern, Amazon Swords, Java moss, Moss balls, they do however love floating plants
4) depends on who you ask, i personally feed daily with pea/veg added on Sunday (just remember there stomach is the size of there eye)
5) definately worth doing, bettas tend to over eat therefore becoming bloated, the pea helps clear them out again
6) 5 gal is a great size for a betta
7) temp is spot on

10) pick a nice lively chap and don't be too worrid if he doesn't eat for a few days, and when you do get him, don't for get the pics

+ 1 I have Amazon Frogbit as a floating plant in my tanks and all my (23) bettas love it! I also have Java fern which they all love to hide and sleep in.

ill put up some pics when i get the chance to take some tomorrow but i got him today and have named him whiteout because he is solid white. have no idea if thats normal or not but hes active (when hes not laying on the leaves of the plants we put it) he swims all over the place and has finally stopped fairing his fins at his relefetion i think the current the the fliter makes is a lil strong for him right now bc he really doesn't like going near it, but im gonna try to fix that by putting a plant underneth the flitter were the water comes back around and see if that will help with the current im sooooo happy

Well, bettas are fine with or without filters, but they really cut down
on the mantinance and make life a little easier
I don't think an air-stone is necessary because they are labyrinth fish.
Sorry, don't know any plants
Feed your betta once or twice a day, and then once a week don't feed him.
