oh no

bah i have a common my ten what does it matter it hardly moves anyways

shouldn't cost you any extra to order in as long as you get em to order a couple in the next time they do an order, at least it doesn't over here as long as they can get hold of em through their usual supplier anyway

You what?!!

That is seriously not a good thing. Common plecs get to 16"+ and create a lot of waste and they need a lot of room. You may not see your plec move but they do, they are nocturnal.

You'll need to sort your situation...fast.

u should read up on fish beforee u get them. ssaying what u did proves that u minght not be the best fish keeper because its mean 2 keep big fish like that in a small tank. it will stunt their growth. well idecided not 2 get any plecos, i think im getting rams instead now.

a common plec in a 10 gal

the reason it dosnt move is probubly cos it cant!!

Common plecos will NOT stop growing and most of thenm grow pretty damned fast! a ten gallon tank will not last him for very long, this will lead to him becoming stunted and deformed but before this he may turn slightly aggressive or simply wreck the decor................be warned!

yup them, they didnt have any at the lfs, the only had veil tail rams, i think they were bolivian, but they were 2 much, so ii got 2 gouramis instead, when all my fish die though i am going 2 get 2 rams, 1 pleco, a buch of cat fish and zebra danios i decided.

Try researching some of the peckolita species many of them dont exceed 6-8inches but unfortunately information on some species is scarce. The only two species i have ever kept are the clown peckolita, who is 6inches long and can be maintained on a diet of algae wafers, mopani wood and likes to suck up blood worms. (I did note he did not do so well in a tank which had little tanin in the water but when moved to one which had yet to cycle it out he did perk up). The other was the Peckolita Taparas, i had two which subsequently turned out to be a pair and bred! Unfortunately their clutch did not hatch and further more they latched on to the side of my loches, scraping off the scales, some of which subsequently died :X shame really as they had lovely dark and light bands and were active most of the day!

im assuming that yur 10 is about 20 inches long. your common plec could grow up to 14 inches or so. if he is in cramped quarters he probably wont move around too much because he is probably unhappy and you are probably also stunting his growth.
