Well what a disaster ok today my dad decided to do me a favor and clean the tank for me while i was at work. Ok well he didn't dechlorinate the water and all 8 of my red eye tetras and 2 of my black skirt tetras died all i have left now are my guppy's and my pearl gourami in total i lost about 10 fish in less than 10 minutes. well i appreciate him for cleaning it but I think I should stick to the cleaning  I guess this means fish shopping for me on the weekend.

oh dear that was a disaster  , bless him for trying to help though, don't discourage him helping just show him how to do it properly. maybe you can get him to cough up for the fish

Sorry to burst a shopping spree... but wouldn't chlorinated water kill filter bacteria, demanding being cycled again?

oh no i forgot about that crap I guess my shopping spree is cancelled
-_- back to testing the water everyday :(:( thanks for reminding me though I totally forgot about that

What are you going to do with the fish that survived as your tank re-cycles?

It'll recover soon, I wouldn't replace all the fish at once though.

Maybe you'll have to make two trips to the shop...

I am not sure I am so not prepared for this right now lol but i think that im going to hold off buying new fish for a couple of weeks and see if the water is ok to get some more fish

My dad once said he would "help" out by feeding them for me.

when I got back the ENTIRE surface of the tank was covered in about a half inch layer of flakes.

It was a messy clean up... :(

ugh that stinks :( sorry to hear about the loss man good luck when you get new ones :good:

this is like good and bad news all rolled into one lol.
sorry for your losses but i hope u have many more happy years ahead :good:
