Oh My Gosh...it Got Huge

We saw one of our koi "Dusty" today today for the first time since the beginning of winter. He is huge now. He was probably about a foot long last year now about 18". I can't believe it. I can't wait to see my blue koi out there now.

We didn't feed them anything. Your not supposed to. Even then, he grew more than he did all summer.

As for blue koi, they are amazing. I'll try to get pics soon. Their bodies are all blue, and their heads are silver, with a silver stripe running down their spine. They aren't butterfly but they are still neat looking.

Actually you can feed koi wheatgerm in winter if you want to (its very easily digestible stuff for fish etc) .

shouldn't really feed ur koi below 10c

wheatgerm maybe ok at around 6c

they dont need that though they are happy waiting!
