Oh....my....god!

I think she's the most used and most mentioned. Probobly the only one I've heard of or from in any inquiry.

I think shippers are uncomfortable shipping on Friday for a Saturday delivery. If there is a hitch it's an extra day in the warehouse. With UPS or FedEx it's even worse because it's a two day delay in the warehouse if a Friday delivery is missed.

Sorry about your delays. Just a guess, but I'm inclined to think that the postoffice is playing catchup. Just because they are delivering again doesn't mean they have everything caught up that is backed up.

If this tansshipper was somewhere close to you I would drive over their, get my fish, and cuss her out...
Hey now, it's not Linda's fault, it's the postal service's. Hell, they lost one of the packages I sent altogether. It was guaranteed to arrive in 2 days and it arrived in 8 (this is after they finally found out where it was.) :X

$25 is the price Linda charges for handling, packaging, and Express shipping... I just had my albimarginata shipped with overnight shipping, and it's quite a bit more. Linda probably didn't want to ship Friday because the postal service doesn't work on Sundays, and Express is guaranteed within two days, so she didn't want to chance them unnecessarily spending an extra night at the post office. Anywho, since they are late, you can get the shipping cost back (a little less than $18), but this might involve having Linda go to the post office to claim the money and then sending it to you, I'm not sure. When the package arrives, be sure to save the little shipping sticker thingy with all the info on it so you can take it to the post office with you should you choose to try for the refund.
I feel for ya, it's really frustrating when these things don't go as planned. I've had fish arrive the day I was going out of town before, and I've had to go pick them up at the post office and get them set up before leaving, but luckily the most I've ever been delayed is 3 hours :/

The three betta I recieved today through Linda were $42.80 total express shipping. Which is closer to what I would expect for FedEx overnight air. She charged $28 just for the shipping component, which was $17.85 to the PO.

Yeah, that's what I was just about to say. She charged me $25 for shipping, plus more for the other stuff for a total of $40+.

I'm not really complaining about Linda, though. I know it's not her fault. It's just that I really need to get to where I'm supposed to be... I'm not really complaining about anything anymore. I just have to deal with it. Can't wait for the fish to get here so that everthing is just settled.

Yeah, she's probably making $10 to $15 for all her work to get the fish to us. Can't really complain about getting paid to work.

It's really about the stress of waiting. I hope your fishies get there well and vital. That's the worst part--worrying about them. There's enough anxiety after they get there.

Get your money back for the shipping.

I tracked them again this morning and it says that they left Lake Charles (which is an hour away) at 10:50pm last night. They should be here soon, I hope! Not only am I worried about the fish, I need to get out of town before I'm in too much trouble!

I'm not going to pressure anyone for my money back. It's not really Linda's fault. I'll talk to her and see if she wants to get it back (she seemed pretty irate with the post office when I was talking to her last night), and if she does, maybe she just won't charge me for the shipping next time. I'm not too worried about it, though. I just want to get my fish and go. :)

Woooooooo it's in town! "Arrival at Unit, October 14, 2005, 8:14 am, DERIDDER, LA 70634"

I wonder if it'll get here before 3:00...I should call the post office and ask if I can go pick it up.

....Becky....look....at that...BUTT! hahah Great...now that will be stuck in my head...

THEY'RE HERE! They're alive and well, and I was surprised to see that they have IAL in their water this time. Now I can breathe. I'm going to let them acclimate and get them into some new water, then I'm going to re-pack the poor little guys up for another day and take them with me. I'll be gone for just over a week and I'm taking them with me so that I can start conditioning them for spawning!

And man...these giants really are pretty giant...

Pics coming in a week or two. I don't have access to my camera right now.

You are going to re-pack them, and take them with you? Why didn't you just leave as planned, and have them shipped to where you were going?

Because they were already in the mail by the time I realized that they wouldn't be arriving when they were supposed to...

And because it wouldn't have been possible to ship them to where I'm headed, anyway.
