Oh Introductions...erm..*cough*...*straightens Hair*...hello!

Hullo!

I thought i'd better post first in the newbies section, and get my introduction over with.

After a few hard months of not doing much, other than getting fat and staring at my pc screen, a week ago I suddenly got the calling to own a tropcial aquarium...it was either that or join the Gym...you with me?

I think it was partly seeing what my sister had done with her tank recently, she's really spruced it up and it looks really tidy and beautiful, with two parrot fish looking splendid.

I also remember spending fun times with my parents when I was little at fish shows, and looking after their friends fish in the Hole in the Road aquarium in Sheffield City Centre, as well as my dads own big tanks.

Anyhow, at the moment i've got a 3 foot tank downstairs, devoid of fish but the new filter and thermostat are doing their jobs, and hopefully it will be ready for a few fish soon.

thats enough for now I think, I have alot of reading to do on here, and probably far too many posts!

You could always combine exercise and fishkeeping by jogging to the lfs

Ooooh.. my plans for the tank, you should ask my family, they know my plans for my tank nearly as well as me, I have been kinda engrossed in it all.

My plans so far, well, i've mainly been concentrating on just getting it set up and fish friendly, i've put in really well washed out gravel, and i've used some Filter Start to give it an extra boost, and some... fish Safe? stuff, that gets rid of the chlorine (im hopeless with names).

Once it's all ready, I want a shoal of Neon Tetra's (i've always adored them) and maybe some Guppy's..I really want to read up more yet before making too many decisions.




Jogging to the LFS...oh, im so glad theres humour on these boards...

Yes... I admit it... I love neopets. Illusen is my fave faerie... if I were a faerie, I would look like her; red hair, green eyes and freckles.

That sounds like a fine choice of fish. Neons are pretty arent they? I have some black neons in my tank, and I just love them.

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone, I was just reading the beginners questions bit, trying to find some advice on which fish would live best with each other etc...

My mother (53) and my son are as addicted to Neopets as me, hopefully my new hobby will get me away from the pc a bit!
