well, went into my LPS today just knowing there were no Bettas, as the order two weeks ago went *POOMFPH* and died. i was positive i was only picking up my Angels, and new bowls for the Boyz and Grrl. instead, i walked out with one bowl (on store credit 
) two Angels, one Goldie, some glass marbles and a little floating lilypad. oh, and a new Boy. i ALSO discovered i can order Crown- and Doubletails from them for 3.15 and 3.50! plus, they'd take any fry i plan on getting from my batch in Spring/Summer!
so, the new Goldie was introduced to Bug and Bruiser, and he is named Speckle. a normal, small Red Fantail with black edging to his fins, a white throat, and a funny black speck on his 'heart'. the Angels- a marble and a calico- are checking out their new digs in the 50, and they are as of yet nameless. Rinkee was moved into her new little glass bowl complete with pinkish marbles and a floating green-with-a-white-flower lilypad, and a tiny toy vanity that came with my Hamtaros xD she loves flaring at herself in the mirror, and i've discovered she has RED gill membranes! is this rare?
now comes the interesting bit- the new guy. he's a nice Butterfly Veil, with a pretty piebald head and dark, dark eyes. his body is kind of mauve, his dorsal and anal fins white with purple blotches near his body. his tail has a purple base, with white rays and light blue membrane. he is a BIG BOY. quite long, quite 'tall', but not too wide. he told me he may be pretty, but he doesn't want to be treated any different than anyone else. his name is just George, thank-you-very-much, and he doesn't want anything fancy covering him up.
so, next week i will get three more bowls and marbles and anything else i need (for George, King and Roc- Flash is in hospital
) and i'm asking them to order me a Crowntail and a Doubletail for my breeding pool. March break, about, i will be pairing Rinkee and King together and hoping for the very best
