Alright, seriously. It's getting out of hand

I just bought two new bettas. I had a Double Betta hex, and there was the prettiest sea green mutt betta that I had to get, but I had no tank. (Enter Betta Hex). The other side was SOO EMPTY. So, I figured "It's Time I Had a Female". So now I have 4 males and one female. She's very pretty. Blue and red. But right now, she's brown and striped. (why do they change like that?)

Anyway. I think that's it for a long time. (no more tanks, and no more money and DEFINITELY no more room haha)

don't worry about the stripes, only darker females get those and it usually means they're ready to breed but my dark ones do it all the time.. at water change time or when they see me getting food for them, it's no big deal, they just do it when they're excited

Depends on whether the stripes are vertical or horizontal, though. The vertical stripes mean they're ready and willing to spawn, but horizontal stripes are 'fear stripes' and the females often get them if they're next to a new boy who's always flaring at them. It means the opposite... they're not ready or willing to breed, and the thought of the male on the other side of the divider getting at them is freakin' them out. She'll almost certainly settle down in a day or so, once she realises she's safe. Then it will be all flirting and displays. :nod:

Oh yes. she had some hardcore Horizontal stripes when I got her out of her bag and put her in the water. She's back to turning blue now, but shes very pastel. So yay! She's settling in quick! And eating well!

And Satellite is just Enthralled! haha
