Dang filter went out on the ten gallon... I saw my betta, Pocky, was stuck in it, so I turned it off to let him get loose, but we were on our way out to dinner so I didn't have time to fill it back up and turn it back on (once it's off I have to fill it back up with water for whatever reason). I left it and decided to deal with it when I got home. Well, we got home and I start filing the thing up, and I realize its taking and awful lot of cups of water for such a little filter. Its not leaking, so I guess it has to be going out the intake somehow? I turn it on to see if I can get the suction going the other way, and it wont do a darn thing.
Anyway, normally the 10 gallon has 3 WCMMs and one betta, and the 5 gallon has one betta. I put the WCMMs in the 5 gallon (its filtered) but that betta wouldn't quit harrasing the WCMMs, so I am putting him in a breeding net in the ten gallon because I don't have a filter. Is this ok?
I don't have a spare filter, and I had been planning on getting a whole new set up next month when Petco has their big fish tank sale, but will this be ok until then?
Also, I thought about putting Pocky with the WCMMs in the 5 gallon, but I think that would really make things cramped.
Thoughts, comments, pointing fingers and laughing that I don't have a back up filter? (Quite deserve it! )
