Anyone ever had experience of keeping an "Ogre Catfish" ????

Went to Wharf Aquatics this morning and they've got one in stock..... only looked about 7" in length, but the comment on the tank was "Very Rare Fish, which is capable of killing/eating fish larger than itself - £260"

Did look kind of 'mean' ;)

I've got one, fantastic fish, you have to see it to belive just what they can fit into their mouths.

Thats a lot of money for a fish that only reaches 11" :S sounds pritty cool though!

gulper cat is its more commonly used common name.

ah! not as stupid as I think then lol, and £260 is a good price for a gulper, I have seen them normally for about £300, although I did have the chance to buy some for about £200 earlier in the year.

i think ogre catfish look so fed up and just cant be bothered with doing anything that doesnt invove food im sure they arent like that i bet they zip around the tank all day lol

I would b so sure, thats the problem with big mouthed preditory fish, then tend to ber very sedentry (is that spelt right??) but i could be wrong, but i doubt it, lol

They tend to hover mid water all the time, so your not spending few hundred on somthing that only appears at feeding time.

Very nice fish.
